08:00 – 09:00 Visit to an Agricultural Exploration
09:00 – 10:00 Visit to a Cheese Dairy
10:00 – 11:00 Interpretation Center or Exploitation of Cattle for Meat
11:00 – 12:00 Visit to União das
Cooperativas activity can be in the afternoon, starting at 02:00 pm, watching the cows milking, in the afternoon, at 05:00 pm.

This tour, lasting approximately 4 hours, will take you to taste the best cheese in the Azores – Queijo de São Jorge – and also see how it is made, from milking the cows, in medium and high pastures. altitude, to its confection, in the cheese factories – Queijarias.

The Tour starts early in the morning, with a trip to a small family farm, where the “cowboy” is still milked, just like in the old days.

It is the opportunity to taste milk in its most natural state.

After tasting the natural milk, we go to a modernized farm, where you can see the raw material being obtained, milk, for the manufacture of cheese, with the milking of the cows.

You will have the opportunity to see the cows, in their almost natural habitat, the green pastures, in altitude, of the island of São Jorge, responsible for the excellent quality of the cheese and its unique flavor.

Then, a visit to a cheese shop, Queijaria Canada, is included, where the cheese is made in the most traditional way possible.

Also, a visit to the União das Cooperativas Agrícolas de Lacticínios de São Jorge – Uniqueijo, where the traditional and much appreciated Queijo de São Jorge DOP is produced, stored, packaged and sold, using the most modern technologies and manufacturing methods.

You will have the opportunity to taste this unique product in its different stages of maturation, which gives them different textures and flavors – at 3, 6, 12 and 24 months.

As an alternative to the visit to the Interpretation Center, a visit to an agricultural holding can be made, from cattle to meat.
